Cantique de Jean Racine is a composition
for choir and piano or organ composed by Gabriel Fauré, when he was 19 years
old. He wrote the piece for a composition competition at the École
Niedermeyer de Paris and it won him the first prize. There are similarities
between Cantique de Jean Racine and his later Requiem. These pieces are
regualry performed of recorded together.
